I am not advocating against SSL, just like I lock my front door even though a determined thief could easily pick the lock. What I am advocating against is a broad embrace of crypto as in thinking we can somehow truly control the flows of information. That will lead to an unwinnable arms race and a closing of society and is as quixotic as the quest for DRM.
